SELECTION:

Only one node can be selected at a time. That node is highlighted with a white wireframe. It is also highlighted in the Tree Window. The Status Bar will display the name and type of the selected node if it has nothing better to show. You can select a different node by picking it with the cursor. You can pick nodes in a graphics window, or in a tree window. When you move the cursor over a node in the graphics window, it will preview with a dashed magenta highlight, and the status bar will display the name and node type of the previewed node. These rules for selection also apply when you are asked to select a node during various operations, such as picking the new Working Group, or a node to be used in an animation.

You can easily select among the nodes that were previously selected. Just hit Shift Tab to traverse back through the list of previously selected nodes. Tab will then traverse forward through the list. The Right/Left arrows in the toolbar are equivalent to the Tab/Shift Tab operations.

There are several handy menu options that will change the selected node. The most useful is Select Parent (Page Up). There are also Select Child ( Page Down), Select Next Sibling (End), and Select Previous Sibling (Home).
