Stack Items using different views or numbers boxes

Select the Box icon, drag it to a viewing window, and move it up. Image:select_box.jpg Click in the top view window, about the middle of the screen to place the box. Image:place_box.jpg Click on the box properties tab to change it's location. You can type in numbers or simply move the mouse. I wanted the base of my box at zero, so I moved it up by half of it's size. Image:move_box.jpg The axis in VRML/X3D are X,Y, and Z. X is left/right, Y is up and down, and Z is in and out of the screen.

Next select the Cylinder... Image:select_cyl.jpg Change it's size... (I wanted mine half of the default size so it would fit on top of the box.) Image:size_cyl.jpg ...and change it's location to stack it on top of the box. Image:place_cyl.jpg

Lastly, select the Cone from the icon list... Image:Select cone.jpg Click on the cone properties tab and half it's size... Image:size_cone.jpg Stack it on top of the cylinder. Image:place_cone.jpg

To make things easier to see, I decided to chnage the colors of the items. Select the Cone from the scene tree on the far right, then on it's properties window, select the material tab. Chose a different default color, or try your hand at mixing one of your own. Image:colors.jpg

I hope you find this helpful and invite others to edit the page to improve thi simple document. --MrPhillip 23:00, 25 October 2006 (PDT)
